Jack Bauer and Chicago Pizza!

Every Monday Night we have a 24 party. Sort of a 'Family Home Evening' so to speak. There are usually around 15 of us who enjoy seeing Jack Bauer save the world. Good food is always in the equation as well. Last Monday, our friend Shaun who is originally from Chicago, ordered pizza and had it FED EXed in from Chicago. It was AMAZING! I have had so called Chicago Style Pizza from different Pizza Places but this pizza was like nothing I have ever tasted.

Chicago Pizza and Jack Bauer...a winning combination!

Oh my gosh!!!!!So you want to know what its like here... So last night I was laying on my bed resting cuz we just got home and we hear this pop pop pop pop BOOM!!! And we found out later that the place where we had just been walking, got mowed down by a machine gun and then if that weren´t enough a grenade was thrown, yes a GRENADE!!! What the heck is this place!!!! Yet again I am fine but good grief!!

The End of an Era!

Okay the era part may be a bit dramatic! Last night I was released from my church calling in Young Women! This February would have been 8 years! It comes with bittersweet feelings. I will miss hanging out with the girls but I am excited to have the extra time back. I served with 4 different amazing Young Women Presidents, went to Camp for 6 years (I am still going to camp!) , attended many beautiful temple weddings and baby showers of former young women and I almost saw Hailey through the program. There will always be a place in my heart for the Young Women's program!

Why so SERIOUS?

This is the quote of the week from Elder Pierce....
"The area I am in is kind of scary but nothing has happened to me at all so don't worry. But I feel like I am in freakin " Dark Knight". All over the papers it talks about, the chief of police getting assasinated, people all over the place being burned, bus drivers getting shot. It's crazy. No need to worry I haven't had anything happen to me."

What do you think....should I worry?

Childhood Memories!

When Dave was 9 months old his family moved to Europe. His father was an Architect for the LDS Church and he designed chapels all over Europe. They moved back to the United States when Dave was seven, so his first school experience took place in Germany. While I was dusting the other day I came across this class photo. Click on the photo as see if you can find Dave! Also look for Helga, Dieter, Gretal and Hans.
(just kidding about the other children...but can't you picture their names!)
SO CUTE!!!!!!

We received some photos from Jonathan today!
This is a picture of Jonathan with some recent converts named Margarita and Gabriel!
(sorry about the bad scanning!)
This is the hill they had to walk up everyday!
For you Santa Rosans, he said it would put Grace Drive to shame!

This is my favorite picture...look at the little girl's face that is standing next to Jonathan.
This is part of one of the families they are teaching!
This is Elder Pierce and Elder Walker in beautiful Guatemala!
A sweet Missionary Christmas!
