It is the perfect ending for this chapter in his life!!!! I remember that day, September 24, 2008, when we dropped him off at the MTC, the MTC President said, "your missionary will come back a better person than they were when they left". The letter below is evidence of that!!!
Hey, I won´t bore you with a lot of stories I will save that for Thursday, but I just wanted to thank you and Dad for raising me to be able to do this. My mission has really been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I have learned so much about my Father in Heaven and his gospel and just life itself. I can´t even express how much my mission means to me and as the days come closer it is becoming harder and harder for me to accept. It already feels like a dream. But the things that I have learned and the experiences that I have had will be ingraven in my heart for ever. I love my mission and I love this country and these amazing people. I love you so much and one of the most precious things that I have gained here is the hope for an eternal family and that alone means the world to me. I could not even try to imagine the Celestial kingdom with out you, Dad, Hailey and Aden, it just wouldn´t be heaven for me. I love you guys with all my heart!! I am so grateful for the influence that you guys have had on me, I know that I was far from the perfect son and I am sorry for that, but I think that I have changed a lot. Its really hard not to change all of your bad qualities on the mission, the trials that you have here almost force you to rely on the Lord to make it out sane. I know that trials really do make us better people if we can trust in the Lord. The 2 biggest lessons that I think I have learned in my mission is to trust the Lord and I know have a firm testimony of the love that our Redeemer has for each and every one of us. I know that he loves us because we "are engraven on the palms of his hands". I have felt that power in my life and especially my mission. I know that he lives and that he watches out for us. I know that the church is true and is guided by divine revelation. The Book of Mormon is the best book in the world. I just finished it for the third time in my mission, which for my its quite a bit, and it truly does testify of Christ like it says it does. It helps us come closer to our Father in Heaven which is our goal here in this life and now I know that. I have finally found my orientation in life, I now know where I am going and where we are going, as a family. These are a few things that I have learned here that I wanted to share with you in my last email. I love you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
